If there’s one theme for this blog, it might be “be careful when you start making money, you might end up owning a bunch of stuff you don’t really care about anyway.”
Take that Adam Smith.
RID…away.
If there’s one theme for this blog, it might be “be careful when you start making money, you might end up owning a bunch of stuff you don’t really care about anyway.”
Take that Adam Smith.
RID…away.
When I started this blog, the one category I wasn’t expecting to have so much of was…
Stuff for stuff.
That is, stuff that exists merely to take care of other stuff. DVD holders. Bookshelves. Hard drives for computer backup. Luggage.
You know, stuff for stuff.
So today I RID what I consider the ultimate stuff for stuff entry. It’s a case designed to take care of the wires and connectors you need for other stuff.
A case. For wires. For other stuff.
RID away. Now, if you’ll excuse me…I need a weekend.
Good book.
Amazing TED speech.
One of the best of the year.
The summation of this great text? When you’re wrong, it feels like…you’re right.
Good thought for a Friday I’d say.
Now, I’m going to pass it along to someone else.
Just an old picture frame.
This one held a picture of me and my parents – from a long time ago.
I RID this one today, but will keep the photo in a treasured place.
I’ve been writing this blog for about a year (almost there!)
And, I think I’ve figured out how it evolves on August 1. But more on that later.
I have another blog I’ve been doing for about 5 years.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about blogging, it’s that you need to find a voice. A way of being. A pure way of expressing yourself, and the ideas contained herein.
I’m excited about the next evolution of the RID blog. It won’t be updated daily, but it will be continued…and it will be something I continue to be committed to.
More on that later.
So, today…I RID a book about blogs.
Just seems apropos.
Received this frame as part of my “office supplies” in my new office.
This one isn’t hard. In fact, it might be the easiest RID ever.
It’s so tempting to just take something like this someone gives you, stick a photo you like in it,…and it becomes part of your life.
But…the RID project has taught me not to do that.
So today I RID something I barely took possession of.
And couldn’t be more glad.
Got this “Snocone maker” from an friend of mine at my last job.
But, gotta RID it today.
You see, I’m on a minimal sugar diet.
And having Snocones around would simply be too much temptation.
See ya.
RIDding an old frame today.
That used to contain the image of someone I used to be with.
No more.
Relationship…over. Frame…RIDded.
Onward.
Today, I RID a couple of pans.
Why? Because I’ve decided that I’m not a good enough cook to have non-nonstick pans.
Just too much trouble…hassle…clean up.
So, today they go off to the RID pile.
And to a better cook than myself.
Today, I RID this book on political promises. When they’re made…and when they’re broken.
There’s quite a lot I could say about this with my liberal sensibilities…but I’ll leave that to the pundits.
Suffice it to say, I’ll do the best I can to hold my elected officials accountable to what they promised whilst campaigning.
Good weekend, all.
