February 10, 2011 – Boondocks.

Never really worked for me.

I’ve always enjoyed political/social commentary served up as humor and/or entertainment. It’s why I think the Daily Show might be the best show on TV right now.

It reminds me of when I was a kid, and I subscribed to MAD magazine. Even though people thought of it as a humor rag, it’s social commentary was biting to say the least.

Years later, I found myself aligned with the Bloom County readers, rather than the Doonsbury nerds. But that was just a matter of opinion. I found Bloom County to be the best use of the comic pages ever.

That’s what I hoped for when I bought this Boondocks collection. But, for whatever reason, it just didn’t work for me.

So, today I RID my Boondocks collection. Here’s hoping its social themes inspire someone else to larger action.
